WAIKOLOA LUXURY CINEMAS What’s next for us Moviegoers can expect a unique experience at the Queens’ MarketPlace’s coming attraction WAIKOLOA — Moviegoers will get a new opportunity to catch the latest films in style when Waikoloa Luxury Cinemas opens at Queens’ MarketPlace later this year. Waikoloa Luxury Cinemas owner Tony Dalzell said they’re hoping to open the threescreen movie venue the first week of November. The space will include two 101-seat spaces and a third 84-seat space. “We feel the restaurant and cinemas will be a truly unique addition to the Queens’ MarketPlace,” Dalzell said, “and will, of course, hopefully create a significant draw to the center which should be a big plus for their other merchant tenants.” Dalzell was also the owner and operator of Marina WaterSports Inc, a watercraft and parasailing attraction in California. Dalzell said he and his wife have been visiting the Waikoloa area about once a year for the past two decades and, as a result, it’s “become like a second home.” When the opportunity came to sell their business on the mainland, the chance to make the move turned into a reality. But first, he said, they both felt like they’d need something to do, so they started researching buisness opportunities. “The idea of a firstrun movie theater came to me as we’ve long known that there’s not much to do after dark on the Kohala Coast,” he said.
