Persimmon has seen the growth of Queens’ MarketPlace firsthand through the last decade, and what Trask said sets it apart is having something for everyone. “Their wide array of vendors really give tourists and locals alike so many options for food, shopping, health and beauty and entertainment,” Jackie said. “From events like movie’s under the stars to weekly hula shows and hawaiian quilting classes, there is something to do everyday of the week here. By including the community in family-friendly events throughout the year, they have become an integral part of Hawaii Island.” Locally owned and operated, the Persimmon crew understands the idea of community. The store even gives a percentage of proceeds from monthly events to Big Island charities and organizations. Coincidentally, being a part of the Queens’ MarketPlace community has been a highlight for Persimmon. “Our time at Queens’ MarketPlace has been full of so many great memories. One of the best parts is the relationships made between us and our customers, neighboring shops and Queens’ management crew,” Jackie said. “It gives us a sense of ohana everyday.
