If you’re looking for a restaurant that has all the ingredients for adventures in dining, look no further than Privateer’s Cove. Located in the Old Kona Industrial Area near Broke Da Mouth Grindz, Privateer’s Cove features the most eclectic menu on the Big Island. From camel burgers and kangaroo potstickers to whitetail deer, elk tenderloin and Kauai shrimpand alligator gumbo, the pirates-themed eatery offers an ever-changing specialty menu that highlights lean game meat and other healthy delights. In addition to being a great destination for fun and friendly dining, Privateer’s Cove also gives back to the community in many different ways. Proceeds from its American Legion Special, for example, go directly to Post #20 in Kona. A supporter of local law enforcement, the restaurant also offers free stir-fry lunches to uniformed police officers. Serving meals from its new catering jeep, Privateer’s Cove recently teamed with the producers of a benefit concert at Old Kona Airport Park’s Makaeo Events Pavilion to help raise money for Wounded Warrior Project and SUDS (Soldiers Undertaking Disable Scuba). This Sunday for Father’s Day, Privateer’s Cove is hosting a Habitat For Humanity Father’s Day Dinner in which $10 of each plate will be donated to the local Habitat organization.
