The county’s growth rate of 14.8 percent will rank higher than the statewide rate of 11.7 percent. Services-providing industries will be the major source of job gains, providing more than four-fifths of the total job opportunities for Hawaii County. While this sector will continue to employ 80 percent of the county’s workforce, the actual percentage gains in goods-producing industries vastly will outpace services providing advances.
