Had a Nice Trip
Last week while on vacation, I took a tumble on a curb,
face-planted myself onto the ground and broke my wrist. If
ulna I had been more careful. It was a total two-wrist trap.
They should have buried me right there on the sidewalk. My
headstone would read: “Rest In Pieces—Two To Be Exact.”
So I went to the doctor, who took out his stethoscope,
listened to my checkbook and told me it was broke. Hey
Doc, in case you didn’t notice, my funny bone isn’t feeling
too humerus at the moment. Tibea honest, I have no idea
why you’re patelling me jokes at a time like this.
My follow-up visit with the orthopedic doctor didn’t fare
much better. I had to wait ages for my x-ray results because they
only had a skeleton crew on hand. So they put me on standby,
otherwise known as “wrist watch.” Talk about boneheaded.
Well, I’m no surgeon (even though I’ve been known to
split a few sides and cut people up with my comedy column),
but I have faith my broken bone will heal eventually, providing
I curb my enthusiasm for tripping over curbs.
So now I’m spending big bucks on alternative treatments. My
Reiki practitioner is a liposuction specialist. He knows exactly how
to remove large amounts of fat from my wallet. I also went to an
acupuncturist. She kept me on pins and needles the entire time
and then she stuck me with the bill!
