Charley’s Thai “I ate there twice, both times for lunch. I had the Mahi Mahi Special, and the Garlic Shrimp. Both were excellent. The sauces both had tremendous flavor, especially the Garlic Shrimp. I ordered medium spicy, which was perfect for me. Service was prompt, food was hot, well-prepared, and wellserved. I was a little concerned about its strip-mall location, but nothing about the food, the menu, or the service supported that stereotype. I love Thai food and I’ve eaten at stand-alone Thai restaurants in beautiful locations that weren’t nearly as good as this one.” — DIANA M, Kamuela Island Fish & Chips at King’s Shops “My husband and I enjoyed a fish and chips dinner next to the lake at the Kings Shops at Waikoloa. It was quick and easy to pick up a meal before the free music in the courtyard of the Kings Shops. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. Fries were crispy and tender and service was very efficient. The meal was 3 large pieces of fish and plentiful chips! The location is behind the shops with tables under the gazebo next to the manmade lake where it is quiet and picturesque.” — MontanaIrish1, Billings, Montana Privateer’s Cove “Privateers Cove is exactly what I enjoy when it comes to eating out. They change the menu every couple weeks which keeps it fun and interesting. They have exotic meats on their menu like alligator, white tail deer, camel, and buffalo to name a few. It’s a small place with a pirate ship fill and airships hanging from the ceiling, and they don’t allow people to talk on their cell phone. I enjoy the food so much I visit at least once a week.” — samwise215, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii Starbucks at Queen’s MarketPlace “This location was recently renovated and it is a stunning makeover. Everything inside has a warm, inviting feel, the wood ceilings and soft lighting. I thought the main feature of the new look is a black wood wall. The wall is painted in gold of a plumeria tree and an volcano near the top. A stunning look that makes this a different kind of Starbucks experience. This Starbucks is located in the Queen’s MarketPlace in Waikoloa Village. Parking is close and an easy walk to the store. The patio outside is amazing. Many trees and tropical plants make for a relaxing way to spend some time relaxing while drinking my beverage. If you like Starbucks this location is a must-see! Located about 20 miles North of the Kona International Airport. I rate this store 5 out of 5 stars.” – KonaKingHawaii, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii Subway at Queen’s MarketPlace “We have eaten here twice already… and, we only arrived 5 days ago! It seems to be the busiest little restaurant in the food court! Be prepared for a little lineup! But, Subway seems to be run efficiently. The place appears clean…and, the sandwiches were fresh. The staff was pleasant. We had lunch for $25—for 3 people. Not a bad deal! And, we will, undoubtedly, go back again!” – CdnTravellerCalgary, Calgary Bay Terrace “Excellent breakfast buffet, and stellar service. Prices are reasonable for the resort area, and the food quality was definitely above average.” – Eric W., Minneapolis, MN Honu Bar at Mauna Lani “The Honu Bar at the Mauna Lani recently opened for food service. We live part time on the island and have been to every restaurant. What a pleasant surprise! The food and service were excellent and prices are fair. Forget going to the Canoe House, this is a much better choice. you don’t get the sunset view that the Canoe House offers, so watch the sunset from the beach, then go out to dinner after dark. I had the sashimi sampler, plus s few sushi. Lots of excellent choices on the menu! Will be back soon.” — Jim A., Santa Rosa, CA Noodle Club “We were looking for simple meal at a reasonable price. Since we enjoyed Village Burger and saw the add for the Noodle Club we tried it. Decor is funky and very fun. We had a nightly special calamari appetizer which was excellent and attractively served, special pork meatball pho in delicious homemade broth with sprouts, mild green peppers, onions and basil. We also tried a daily special dessert of chocolate mousse, when I asked our charming server about the texture of the whipped cream she said everything is done by hand; the chef isn’t into machines. We really enjoyed this dining experience. Although I usually have a glass of wine with dinner (they do not serve alcohol) our server said it is BYOB. The food was so good I didn’t miss the wine.” — Luv2SeeNewMts Ruth’s Chris Steak House “Are you looking for a great meal and steak this is the place. Ruth Chris lives up to their brand on the great island of Hawaii. A nice place to have a great romantic delight full evening. Don’t miss the opportunity of not going there.” — bigrunsaturday, Illinois Continued from page 6 7
