Since its grand opening in February 2016, Privateer’s Cove has provided local veterans groups with a place to meet. Proceeds from the restaurant’s American Legion Special go directly to Post #20 in Kona. Additionally, Nick offers free stir-fry lunches to uniformed police officers. “Privateer’s Cove was started as a dream,” said Nick. “We owe the people of Kona thanks for our success. Now we want to focus on reaching out. Privateer’s Cove was meant to be a place for people to gather, be nice to each other, and act like family. A main part of our focus had always been and will always be community. The world is not black and white and people will not always get along and see eye to eye, but we can help and support each other.” ■ CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1 in Globa, Ea Loca Come sample Waimea Chef Edwin’s Fresh Alternative to Local Island Cuisine!
