6 ONO-LICIOUS | DECEMBER 9, 2016 Toast of the Town Habaneros Grill Serves Specialty Tequilas and Signature Margaritas More than 30 different specialty tequilas line the shelves behind the cocktail bar at Habaneros Grill, a fine-dining Mexican restaurant located on the corner of Ali‘i Drive and Walua Road. Serving up an array of great margaritas, Habaneros Grill offers the always-popular Hibiscus Margarita, made with a full ounce and a half of hibiscus infused 1800 Reposado tequila served on the rocks with a salted rim. Other signature margaritas on the menu include the refreshing Watermelon margarita, as well as mango, lilikoi, strawberry and Piña Colada margaritas — all made with fresh island juices. Happy hour at Habaneros Grill presents great deals on wine and beer. By the glass, the house wine goes for $4. If you’re in the mood for something more South of the Border, the sangria is also priced at $4 a glass during happy hour. Draft beer during happy hour is offered at $3.50 a mug. Mexican import beers on draft include Pacifico, Corona Light, Modelo Especial, Negra Modelo, and Dos Equis Amber. The happy hour discounts are front and center in the welldrinks department. Priced at $5.50, selected well drinks are made with vodka, gin, light rum whiskey or brandy. The ultimate “Happy Margarita” is yours for the taking at $5. Held Tuesday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., happy hour at Habaneros Grill also features an array of affordably priced appetizers for under $7. Regular patrons enjoy the $6 bean-and-cheese nachos, chicken taquitos, or ahi-stuffed jalapeños rellenos de atun topped with queso fresco and tomato salsa. Also on the happy hour menu are tacos filled with fresh, island ingredients, as well as empanadas served with choice of “tinga de pollo” or tuna, folded, stuffed, fried and served with tomatillo/ avocado salsa and chipotle sour cream for $6. Upstairs from the main dining room, a private dining space provides an excellent venue for parties, receptions and gatherings.
