APAC Bachelor Auction is Saturday
Aloha Performing Arts Company will
hold its second annual Bachelor Auction
Saturday at Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu.
More than 10 eligible bachelors have agreed to
participate and winning bidders can expect to enjoy
meals from a number of local restaurants, in addition
to activities such as water sports, golf and a massage.
VIP tickets are available pre-sale for $20. The doors for
VIP ticket holders open at 6:30 p.m. with light pupus and
a chance to mingle with the eligible bachelors before the
bidding begins. The doors for regular ticket holders open
at 7:15 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10.
All proceeds benefit Aloha Performing Arts Company’s
mission to bring live theatre and arts to West Hawaii.

Soward paintings to be displayed
Stellae Errantes, a series of elephant paintings by
Sarah Soward, will be on display at the EHCC/Hawaii
Museum of Contemporary Art in Hilo starting Friday.
An opening reception is slated from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Friday at the EHCC/Hawaii Museum of Contemporary
Art. Soward’s work will remain on display through
Aug. 25. The
exhibition is free
to the public.
The exhibition
combines
depictions of
elephants with
ideas of the
astronomy and
mythology of our
solar system.
During the
exhibition, Soward
will be in the
gallery working
on depicting the
supercluster
galaxy system
of Laniakea by
way of Hawaii’s
endemic bird
species. Dwarf
planets and moon
phases are also
on her to do list.
The EHCC/Hawaii Museum of Contemporary
Art is located at 141 Kalakaua Street in Hilo.
