Gifts from the kitchen
2 sticks butter
1/2 cup sugar
Saltine crackers (Lisa
likes the Keebler Butter
Saltine Crackers-green box)
1 (2.25 ounce) bag
sliced almonds
Lay crackers flat to
fit entire rimmed baking
pan lined with foil.
Melt butter in medium heat,
pour in sugar and stir until
it boils, about 2 minutes.
Spread half of sugar butter
on crackers with basting
brush, sprinkle nuts on tops
of basted crackers, then
spread remaining sugar butter
on top of the nuts. Lisa like
a silicon brush to do this.
Bake in 350 degree oven
for 10 minutes or so, till lightly
brown around edges.
Cool, then break
apart and enjoy!
Almond Cracker Brittle
Here is an easy dessert to give as a gift
from my dear friend Lisa Kwee. She makes
this whenever there is a dessert potluck.
Do you know the average American
spends over $700 for Christmas gifts?
Who knows whether you got the right
size or color? Giving a gift from the kitchen
is less costly, you don’t have to worry about
the size or color. Of course, when you make
these gifts from the kitchen, you need to
know their tastes, like giving chai tea mix to
someone who drinks it daily, or hot sauce to
someone who loves their food spiced up.
Here are some gift ideas for consideration.
