The food is really good and the price is right. Usually got two dinner items for about $22. Good size also. We would recommend it. Llll Y. Seattle, Washington Ray’s on the Bay We arrived in Kona late this afternoon. When the Sheraton concierge called Rays on the Bay to see if we could get a dinner reservation for 7 p.m, they said the earliest available was 8 p.m.; but then they graciously decided they could fit us in. So imagine our surprise when we showed up and were taken to a waterfront table with its own fire pit! At sunset! It was the most romantic setting — perfect for celebrating a special occasion. My husband and I both ordered the spring greens with tomatoes and a goat cheese fritter. He then had the cheeseburger and I had the roasted chicken with grilled root veggies and fingerling potatoes; we split the chocolate lava cake for dessert. All were excellent, as was the service. We also enjoyed the live music (guitar and vocals). While we were finishing our entrees, several of the guests pointed out the manta rays that had come to feed in the water below us. There were six or eight of them, clearly visible as the water was lit. They were so fun to watch! After dinner, we walked through the Manta Ray Learning Center next door, which was really interesting, with photos and a video about the rays that live in Keauhou. A great evening, full of fun surprises! PDXPAT80. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Haleo Luau We came with our family of 11 people, a group of all ages. The kids got to sit in the front so they could see the hula girls and fire dances. Aunty Tutu was our MC and she was my favorite. By far the best Luau I’ve ever been too! Five stars! Even my father said this group would be good enough to perform for the president! Genna F. Ocean Bar and Grill The staff at the Ocean Bar is great. Native Hawaiians behind the bar, very intelligent, very accommodating and willing to provide advise, if asked, and also the history of their island. Located near the water, drinks at $12 and house wine at $10. This is the place to relax and exchange good conversation. Lovely grounds, very comfortable. Bill S. San Francisco, California Charley’s Thai Family of four with diverse palates and spice tolerances. Our server couldn’t have been better at accommodating us. The food was fantastic and our waitress full of smiles and helpful information. Hidden in the corner of a shopping mall. Prices were very reasonable. Thanks!!! GregE330. Rapid City, South Dakota A-Bays Island Grill We always stay in the Waikoloa area when we visit the Big island and we stopped into A-bays one afternoon to give it a try. We had a few drinks and some lunch and we just absolutely loved the atmosphere. In fact we returned here to unwind and have a nightcap after watching the sunset on more than one occasion. We love A-bays and plan to visit there again next month!! 934jakej Grand Island, Nebraska Continued from page 7
