10X Sunday, July 29, 2018 | WEST HAWAII TODAY
Experience. Compassion. Commitment.
On the Hawai‘i County Council, Dru
worked to fund initiatives and advance
policies to care for the most vulnerable
and needy in our community.
He supported mental health and
emergency housing services to kōkua
Kona’s homeless population. He passed
legislation to ban the sale of tobacco
products to people under 21. He’s
funded important equipment like vans
for senior programs and jet skis for
lifeguards, improvements at community
facilities, and brand new parks and
playgrounds like Ali‘i Kai Park.
Dru was born and raised in West Hawai‘i.
Advocating for the community that raised
him is why he ran for public office in the
first place, and why he’s running now for
State Senate.
As our senator, he will work with his
colleagues to build more affordable
housing and to reduce homelessness,
protect Hawai‘i Island agriculture and
our precious environment, responsibly
grow our economy, invest in education
and emergency preparedness, increase
access to health care, and improve our
airports, harbors and highways.
