8 ONO-LICIOUS | MAY 26, 2017 Word on the Str(eat)! Great view while eating too of the bay! Manika B. Roscoe, IL Daylight Mind Cafe and Restaurant Location: It is in the Queens Marketplace in Waikoloa in the Hilton Village. Atmosphere: Very open floor space with lots of outdoor and indoor seating. The doors are left open so there is always a nice breeze inside. Service: 5/5 The servers here were great and very friendly. They messed up my meat order and quickly remedied this with a side of the meat I did want. I am glad to see that there was no hesitation from him and that he was very hospitable. I usually don’t make a fuss, but their sausage looked really good. Food & Drinks: Mushroom Sandwich ~$17: 4/5 My wife loved this dish and ordered it again the 2nd time we came. It was a good sandwich with a lot of vegetables and cheese. I thought the flavor wasn’t anything crazy, but I loved the great portions of veggies and the creamy lillikoi (passion fruit) sauce for the salad. Puna Kine Benedict ~ $16: 4/5 Probably spoiled by SD brunch, it still was a very solid dish. The eggs were cooked well and the dish was a solid benedict. I really enjoyed the fact that it was already vegetarian (for my wife) and came with a lot of veggies. The potatoes were also very good and interesting as I believe it came with 3 types of potatoes/yam (purple potato, yam, baby russet potato?) Happy Brunching my friends! 886-8600 886-3400 IN THE FOOD COURT: HOURS Queens’ Marketplace 9:30am - 9:30pm • Restaurant and Food Court hours may vary Located 20 min. La Jolla, CA Privateer’s Cove We’ve visited Privateer ’ s for both lunch and dinner, and have been quite pleased with each. Lunch is a great value, as you can customize your stir fry with choice of protein, veggies, and noodles. Ono! Dinner is an adventure, never knowing what will be on the menu. Nick, the owner and head chef, changes it up every 2 weeks. Be willing to try something new…you won’t regret it. Top quality at affordable prices. Nick has also been quite the host, visiting with us to tell us about all the items on the menu for the evening, making recommendations based on our preferences, and then even “torching” the Creme Brulee tableside. Looking at the restaurant from the outside, you wouldn’t imagine that such imaginative and delicious food would be found in a restaurant next to a laundromat. Check it out…you’ll be glad you did! Jimmy G. Kailua, Oahu Lemongrass Express This place is great! My wife and I were looking for a casual spot to eat vs. the expensive dining by the King’s shops. We stumbled upon this cafeteria and gave Lemongrass Express a shot. It’s definitely not your typical mall cafeteria food! I ordered the chicken wraps which were fantastic! My wife got the tofu which was crispy on the outside and silky on the inside. We got a couple of smoothies too, but they were just okay. The boba was a bit too firm. We also met TK who runs the place. Very friendly guy who knows what he’s doing. He also has a couple of other restaurants on the island which we happened upon coincidentally on our visit. We didn’t eat at them but you should definitely check them out (Lemongrass Bistro in and TK’s Noodles). This place is a great food stop if you are driving up/down the western coast! Michael L.
