ONO-LICIOUS | JANUARY 20, 2017 7 A la Carte New Menu at Privateer’s Cove Features Duck, Kangaroo and Alligator It’s official: Alligator appetizers are currently on the lunch menu this January at Privateer’s Cove. Meanwhile, January’s dinner menu features the Port of Portland duck breast served with an apple brandy cream. Open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week, Privateer’s Cove presents dishes from around the world. Specializing in eclectic meats and specialty foods, Chef Nick Traxler changes up the menu at least once a month, depending on what items are available that day. In addition to the newly added alligator bites ($12), the appetizer menu includes kangaroo potstickers ($12), bacon-wrapped stuffed shrimp ($10), clam strips ($10), and French truffle mac & cheese ($12). Every Wednesday is Hump Day at Privateer’s Cove, where authentic camel burgers are priced at $16. Although exotic meats are the star attraction on the Privateer’s Cove menu, there are options for vegans and vegetarians too. The gourmet house salad features mixed greens, toasted almonds, feta cheese, and candiedbacon with blackberry vinaigrette ($4). For lunch, the build-your-own stir- fry ($8) offers choice of chicken, beef and shrimp, plus homemade sauces (Thai peanut, coconut red curry) and plenty of vegetables.
