Your Foodie Guide t to great eating in West Hawaii ONO-LICIOUS!January 20, 2017 Ruth’s Chris Steak House Announces 2017 Schedule for National Wine Dinner Series Fantastic, multi-course wine dinners will be par for the course in the coming year at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, located at The Shops at Mauna Lani at Mauna Lani Resort. The first of the restaurant’s series of national wine dinners will take place on Thursday, February 23, when five varietals from the renowned Prisoner Wine Company, of California, will be paired with five delicious courses to include a full-steak entrée showcasing 8-oz. filet mignon. February’s wine dinner is priced $100 per person, says Joe Gorman, general manager of Ruth’s Chris Mauna Lani. “Our Prisoner Wine lineup will showcase different varietals of reds and whites, and a white blend for dessert. Prisoner is a darn popular wine. We served it in October as our featured wine of the month. It’s always very well rated.” After February’s event, the next five-course wine dinner will happen on March 30, featuring wines from Daou Vineyards. Located in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles in California, Daou Vineyards was established by two brothers, Georges and Daniel Daou, who are currently pursuing “first growth” wine of Bordeaux varieties. On April 27, the Macallan portfolio of Highland single malt Scotch whisky will be paired with five outstanding courses at Ruth’s Chris. Macallan is known for its oak casks that contribute to the distinctive aromas and flavors of the whiskey.
