The free community gathering runs from 6-10 p.m. both days and features local vendors, live entertainment, a fashion show, food and more. Main stage entertainment includes Ms. Demeanor and the Felons and a fire dance. Proceeds from tonight’s Liquid Aloha Beer Garden at Kona Brewing Co. will be donated to the Donkey Mill Art Center, a nonprofit that provides art education for adults and youth at the Donkey Mill in Holualoa. Proceeds from Saturday night’s Liquid Aloha Beer Garden will be donated to the Hospice of Kona’s Camp Erin, which is a weekend camp for children ages 5-17 who experience the loss a loved one. Hula Kahiko series continues Saturday Volcano Art Center’s 2016 Hula Kahiko series continues at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with a performance by Na Kumu Leilehua Yuen and Manu Josiah. Josiah and Yuen are known for their informances, in which they blend storytelling, science, chant and hula to create a journey through Hawaiian history and culture. The free performance is part of a year-round series sponsored by the center. For the series, hula halau from across Hawaii are invited to perform each month in a one-of-a-kind outdoor setting at the kahua hula (platform) in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. These performances are presented authentically in an outdoor setting, rain or shine without electronic amplification. Audience members are encouraged to bring sun/rain gear and sitting mats. National Park entrance fees may apply. Held in conjunction with this performance, Native Hawaiian culture specialist Loke Kamanu and her ohana will share “Na Mea Hula” (all things hula) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the lanai of the Volcano Art Gallery. Participants will learn a hula, use various hula implements and try their hand at lei making. Info: www. volcanoartcenter.org. Kupuna Ford to share moolelo and mele The Kailua-Kona Public Library will host Kupuna Ford presenting a program of Hawaiian stories and songs at 2 p.m. Saturday. Ukulele players are encouraged to come and jam. This program is suitable for ages 5 and up but children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. Info: 327-4327. Hama Jang performs Saturday in Waikoloa Every month, Queens’ MarketPlace at Waikoloa Resort offers a free concert for residents and visitors. On Saturday, Hama Jang will play at the Coronation Pavilion from 6-8 p.m. Hama Jang is a fourpiece band that plays a mixture of contemporary and classic local jams. Info: 886-8822. Volcano Village Art Studio Tour next weekend The Volcano Village Artists Hui will host its 30th annual Art Studio Tour and Sale Nov. 25-27. Visitors are invited to meet the six artists in their Volcano Village studios, and see artworks in a wide variety of media. Pottery, raku masks, handblown art glass, wood and metal sculpture, hand tooled metal, and fiber art, as well as photographs, paintings, drawings and block prints will be on display and available for purchase. A special drawing for pieces contributed by the artists will be held on the last day of the event. Classes & workshops APAC offers ‘dance audition’ workshop Aloha Performing Arts Company will offer a three-session “Dance Audition” workshop next month at Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu. From 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 3, 10 and 17, professional dancer, educator, director, and choreographer Ellen Farnsworth will give students a general grounding for movement auditions. Farnsworth is originally from Los Angeles, and worked for many years in Denver, where she owned her own production company. She will be the choreographer for APAC’s production of “Jesus Christ Superstar,” which will be presented at the Aloha Theatre in February and March.
