Hawaii Tribune-Herald Island Beat Thursday, March 23, 2017 5 Hawaii Performing Arts Festival recently announced it will present a second series of Stradivarius concerts, this time featuring Martin Chalifour, concertmaster with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Chalifour will perform on a Stradivarius violin created in 1711 and once owned by the renowned 20th century composer Fritz Kreisler. Pianist Cary Lewis of the Lanier Trio will accompany Chalifour. Two performances are scheduled. The first is slated for 7 p.m. April 17 at a private residence in Kona. Guests are asked to arrive between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Tickets for this show are $80 and include wine and light refreshments. Seating for this show is very limited. The second performance is set for 7 p.m. April 19 at Honokaa People’s Theatre. Tickets are $25.
