Kailua Kalikimaka kicks off Nov. 23
The Kailua Village Business
Improvement District kicks off its
annual Kailua Kalikimaka festivities
on Nov. 23, the day after Thanksgiving.
First on the slate is the annual lighting
of the Christmas tree at Emma’s
Square, located across Alii Drive from
Hulihee Palace in Kailua Village.
The tree lighting tradition gets
underway at 5:45 p.m.
On Saturday, Dec. 1, bring the family
down to Kona Commons Shopping
Center for Dinner and a Movie Night.

Outdoor Movie Night features
“Sing!” starting at sunset in the Kona
Commons Parking Lot fronting the
Water Fountain.
Attendees are asked to bring their
own picnic blankets and chairs.
Coolers, alcohol and outside food are
not permitted.
If you’re looking for locally made
crafts for under the tree, be sure to shop
local at Kokua Kailua on Sunday, Dec.
16, from 1 to 6 p.m. on Alii Drive.
The event, which turns Alii Drive into
a pedestrian-only mall, features village
merchants, artists and musicians.
And, as a gift to the community, the
Kailua Village Business Improvement
District presents a free holiday concert
on Sunday, Dec. 16, from 5 to 6 p.m. featuring
Mark Yamahaka, a Hilo-raised,
falsetto-singing, multi award-winning
musician.
