I Auto Know Better
My auto body shop and I are now close friends.
We met by accident.
You guessed it, loyal readers. I got rear-ended last
month and am currently getting a crash course in how to
deal with an auto insurance claim.
It all started when I got my first estimate for repairs. That’s
when my wallet flashed before my eyes and I began to have an
auto body experience. And even though my body shop comes
highly wreck-a-mended and is doing a bang-up job on my repair,
I’m still without my car after more than a month.
I have to admit, I like my rental car more than my
Hyundai Accent. For starters, it has a push-button ignition.
It’s a Ford Hybrid but unfortunately I can’t afFORD to keep
renting it past my 30-day rental period.
I’ve been forced to become Enterprising trying to get
my insurance company to extend my car rental, but frankly,
their response Hertz my feelings. They won’t listen to my
Saab story. They simply Dodge the issue and refuse to
Escalade my concerns to a higher department. Apparently I
take a backseat to their bottom line.
I wish they could shift gears be more neutral with their
darn rules, but I can’t get them to reverse their decision.
Somebody please spare me from this tiring car drama that’s
going nowhere. Talk about feeling carsick. I’m exhausted. I
hope to put this whole experience in the rear view mirror
very soon.
The good news is, I wasn’t hurt in the accident. And
even though I was left stranded on the side of the highway,
at least I had a shoulder to cry on.
