The storage facility’s services and passion spoke for itself, and it landed Great American Self Storage the Best Storage Facility in West Hawaii for 2015. “It was a total shock,” said Kat Rauch, manager of Great American Self Storage. “Definitely a huge honor for us. We want to thank the community for voting for us No. 1. Without them we wouldn’t have been able to get this honor.” The 63,000 square ft. secure, air-conditioned self storage facility is located at 74-5499 Loloku St. in Kailua-Kona. The company offers a variety of storage options and also holds large garage sales on site during the year. Rauch has been with the company since 2008 and took over a year and a half ago as manager. Coming from the hospital industry, she knew about helping people. She continues to lend a helping hand but in a new way, through finding people their storage solutions. “Helping people find their storage solution is very rewarding,” Rauch said. “It is something that is unique. It feels great to help people and take the burden off them.” Great American Self Storage has earned a great reputation by going the extra mile for its customers. The air conditioned units and oversized 30-foot wide driveways are part of that, and the facility can also accept deliveries on its customers behalf. The staff is available to answer all your questions about storage unit sizes, packing/moving tips, and general inquiries about the storage process. “We are the storage facility with aloha,” Rauch said. “We try to go above and beyond for our customers, but we don’t consider it that. We see ourselves as a full-service self storage.” Rauch said she has met all kinds of interesting people during her time at Great American Self Storage, and is looking forward to more years of serving the community. “We will continue to do good work and hopefully people will continue to trust us with their storage needs,” she said.
