Library to screen ‘Captain Underpants’ The Kealakekua Public Library will offer a free showing of “Captain Underpants” at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The PG-rated film features George Beard and Harold Hutchins, two overly imaginative pranksters who spend hours in a tree house creating comic books. When their mean principal threatens to separate them into different classes, the mischievous boys accidentally hypnotize him into thinking that he’s a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants. Free popcorn available while supplies last. Beverages in closed containers are allowed. Young children must be accompanied by an adult. Hilton planning Oktoberfest Party Hilton Waikoloa Village’s inaugural Oktoberfest Party has been set for Oct. 7 at the South Kohala resort. From 6-9 p.m. at Hilton Waikoloa Village’s Kamehameha Court, this folk-tastic party will be showcasing 8-10 Bavarian beer “garten” brews and the resort’s culinary team will be presenting an array of scratchmade authentic German food to complement the beverages. Live musical performances hosted by KAPA’s Jaz and Kaea, and a polka dance contest will round out the entertainment. Dance contest winners will receive prizes. General admission tickets are $79, teen tickets are $49, and children tickets (5-12 years) are $35. Keiki younger than age 4 enter free. VIP tickets are an additional $20. Ticket prices are exclusive of taxes and 14 percent gratuity. General admission ticketholders get access to German food stations, three beer tastings and complimentary self parking. The film, released this year, explores how he ignited the worldwide cultural revolution of spiritual consciousness, known as the Hare Krishna movement, a Bhakti movement.
