The wine dinner series culminates on Oct. 15 with Italian wines from the Antinori family of Florence, one of the world’s oldest and most distinguished wine producers dating back to the 14th century. Founded in New Orleans in 1965, Ruth’s Chris Steak House is renowned worldwide for its succulent steaks, sterling hospitality and elegant atmosphere. Founder Ruth Fertel perfected the art of broiling steaks at 1,800 degrees to retain the savory juices and mouthwatering flavors. To keep the “hot-out-of-the-broiler” taste, Ruth heated ceramic plates to 500 degrees before plating the perfectly seared steak, and then added butter to generate the famous sizzle as the plate is delivered from kitchen to table. The same technique is used today on everything from filets and T-bones to ribeye steaks. The Ruth’s Chris menu also includes barbecued shrimp sautéed New Orleans style, lamb chops, lobster bisque, stuffed chicken breast and mac-crusted fresh catch. ■ CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1 Ruth’s Chris at Mauna Lani presents an elegant setting for a night out on the town.
