HOLLYN JOHNSON/Tribune-Herald Feel the emotion: Live model oil painting Painters of all levels, from beginning to advanced, are invited to participate in a fun four-session class “Portraits from Life: Oil Painting with Live Model” on Saturdays starting Aug. 29 through Sept. 19 at the Hawaii Museum of Contemporary Art. The course is taught by Japan native Sakiko Shinkai, who moved to Hawaii in 2006. She studied art in Seattle and also was a fellow at the Studio Incamminati School for Contemporary Realist Art in Philadelphia where she mentored students and helped at exhibitions and other school events. Shinkai will use a live model as the inspiration for this portrait series and will show students, step by step, how to draw, separate light and shadow, August 27 2015 3.
