I-Doctor, U-Patient
I went to the eye doctor to get my eyes checked but
decided on plaid instead.
You guessed it loyal readers. I’m about to unleash some
lowbrow humor about my latest visit to the optometrist.
Warning: these jokes will be cornea than ever.
My recent eye exam was a real eye opener. Apparently
I have stars in my eyes due to excessive wearing of rosecolored
glasses. My contacts have also been bothering me
lately, so I deleted them from my phone.
My optometrist and I don’t see eye-to-eye about what’s
on the last line of the eye chart. The good news is, getting
my eyes dilated makes me see the world in a whole new
light. I’m also happy to report that my color-blindness is
completely covered by Green Cross.
I decided to splurge on a pair of designer prescription
sunglasses. It took me many agonizing hours in the shop
trying to decide on the right frames, but at least I didn’t
make a complete spectacle of myself. I love my new
sunglasses but wouldn’t you know it, I misplaced them
while on vacation and had to go near-sighted sightseeing
instead. Turns out you need your glasses to find your glasses
when you lose your glasses.
So with age comes some bagging and sagging around
the eyes. I’ve thought about getting an eyelift but when
I saw the cost for the surgery, my jowls nearly dropped
to the floor.
