For nearly 120 years, the Hawai‘i Island Chamber of Commerce has served the businesses and residents of the Island of Hawai‘i as a voice of the business community on the Island. The chamber is one of many organizations that we could be an active part of. Why do we choose this organization to spend our time and effort on? There are many reasons. Primarily we recognize that active businesses share many of the same concerns, needs, strengths and weaknesses. Through our association with the chamber we are able to address issues of concern in a variety of ways. For instance, together we can better: • Promote the economic well-being of our island, its products and services. • Influence legislation and policy through advocacy. • Voice our Island’s concerns to state, national and other local chambers. • Identify issues facing the business community and collaboratively works toward solutions. • Sponsor seminars and programs to help members hone their skills to conduct better business. • Keep members informed with data on trends, legislation and developments. • Support and cultivate opportunities for growth for the next generation of community leaders. Today, being the voice of business is much more challenging than it has ever been. However, with challenges, there exist opportunities that we should not miss. Being a part of the chamber can provide great benefit and opportunity to network and to be a part of this collective voice of business for Hawai‘i Island. If you are not a member we invite and encourage you to consider joining the Hawai‘i Island Chamber of Commerce. We are stronger together while we learn with and from each other and speak with a collective voice. You can join today by calling 808-935-7178. In the meantime we hope you will enjoy this insert as it gives you an idea of the services chamber members provide daily to our island community. Bill Walter, President Your Chamber Connection ...
