2 ONO-LICIOUS | OCTOBER 21, 2016 Sam Choy’s Kai Lanai This restaurant has a great location situated above the Keahou shopping centre. It’s a fabulous place to watch the sunset each evening and have a drink and a meal. We thoroughly enjoyed the calamari to start followed by a very generous Lau Lau seafood dish which included prawns, fish and crab in a dill cream sauce and a Sam Choy poke which I had lightly seared The generous portions meant there was no room for dessert. On top of that we had service with a smile from our waiter. The menu had a range of things we’d like to try so plan to return again before we leave the island NZTraveller20 Southland Lemongrass Express This is the best food we’ve had in Hawaii so far! It is totally worth it to get outside of the resort walls and explore the food options. One of our local guides told us about Lemongrass Express and I’m so glad we tried it. We ordered the red curry with chicken and the shrimp summer rolls. The curry was one of the best we’ve ever had. The veggies in it were super fresh and plentiful and the sauce was delicious! The summer rolls were crunchy with fresh greens and the peanut sauce was great. It’s clear Chef TK knows what he’s doing- this is top quality Asian fusion at a fraction of the resort price tag. The service is great and the prices are not outrageous for the area. My husband and I split the steak and lobster dinner, my friend and I Sullivan appetizer and my friend had macadamia encrusted fish of the day.no room left for dessert! Take time to find out about their many different happy hour type pricing each day. Sometimes meals can be 50% off! But even if you pay full price, you will leave happy and may want to return the next day.
