Hayashi was a frequent ier to the mainland thanks to his handiwork in Hawaii qualifying tournaments. Hayashi competed at the Senior PGA Championship in May, and he did himself one better a few months later when he secured a spot at the U.S. Senior Open. For good measure, he also won the Aloha Section PGA Professional Championship and PGA Professional Championship quali er.
