Three years after the last

The center, based in

it takes eyes everywhere,”
Elliott said. “All of you

Elliott has been rehabili-

It struck her as odd that
a wildlife hospital was

distinction of being the
endangered species capital

until a decade later that
the center gained traction
under the umbrella of the

Something’s fishy in Puako—
at least according to handyman
and charter boat captain Will
Little.
“It has come to my attention
that there is an illegal slaughter
of reef fishand the takingofpro-
tected green sea turtles. There
doesn’t seem tobeanyway toget
the locals, either residentsor law
enforcement, todo anything so I
am appealing to theworld news
and Fox News’ ability to reach
themasses,”Littlewrote toWest

take people out and enjoy what
God has given us — dolphins,
whales, turtles and amyriad of
other beautiful creatures. It has
come tomy attention that there
is a very small group f people
not from our island going in at
night and killing pretty much
everything in sight. With all
of the federal monies spent on
worthless programs, I appeal to
you guys to bring this to the
attention of the world so that
maybewe canput a stop to it.”

FL-WR is a nonprofit organization
thatwas formed in 2010with the pri-
mary goal of bringing aHawaii state
library to theWaikoloa region.
Many strides have been made
toward that goal. A piece of land by

have been garnered, and the state has
released funds for the design of the
