SCHOLARSHIPS & EDUCATION AWARDS The Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce has been supporting students during one of the most important times of their lives — their pursuit of higher education through our University of Hawaii system. The Chamber has been awarding scholarships to qualified University of Hawaii at Hilo and Hawaii Community College students since 1989 through an endowment fund managed by the University of Hawaii Foundation. Over the years, HICC has awarded more than $138,000 to University of Hawaii at Hilo students and $31,000 to Hawaii Community College students who have excelled in academic and extracurricular achievements.
