Chef Choy’s work needs little intro. The famous Big Islander has been creating cuisine with fresh, local island ingredients since he was a boy learning to cook alongside his parents. Before the words farm-totable ever came together, sourcing and cooking with the traditional foods of Hawaii was a way of life for Sam. Choy’s native intelligence and culinary creativity led him to co-create and popularize Hawaii Regional Cuisine around the globe. His Sam Choy’s Kai Lanai restaurant in Keauhou is partnered with local farmers, ranchers and fishermen to bring the island’s freshest food to the table. These local ingredients provide the base for Sam’s unique Hawaiian fusion cooking. Kai Lanai is truly a unique culinary experience. And he’s as comfortable in front of the camera as he is in the kitchen. As a chef, he has appeared on numerous Food Network shows including Chopped: Grill Masters and Iron Chef America. He has also been a guest twice on Hawaii Five-O, appearing with Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and Carol Burnett. He’s an author of 18 cookbooks as well. Tiki Shark featuring Sam Choy
