Sansei to host
winemaker dinner
with Neyers Vineyards
of Napa Valley

SPECIAL TO WEST HAWAII TODAY
On Tuesday, Sansei Seafood,
Steakhouse & Sushi Bar will feature the
premium wines of Neyers Vineyards
during a special winemaker dinner to
be held in the restaurant’s private dining
area. Vintners Bruce and Barbara Neyers
will be on hand along with master winemaker
Tadeo Borchardt to discuss their
organic winemaking process renowned
for producing the highest-quality artisanal
wines.
Enjoy four different Neyers wines
paired with a contemporary menu created
by D.K. Steakhouse executive chef
Albert Balbas and Sansei Waikoloa executive
chef Shane Torres. Priced at $125 per
person (includes tax and gratuity; limited
to 50 people), the event will feature four,
3-ounce pours and six courses.
For the appetizer course, the slow-roasted
Duroc pork belly will be accompanied
by the 2016 Neyers Carignan “Evangelho
Vinyard.” For the second course, the
2016 Neyers “304” Chardonnay will be
paired with seared scallop seasoned in
roasted garlic almond butter. The main
entrée will feature Tajima wagyu strip
loin paired with both the 2014 Neyers
“Neyers Ranch” Cabernet Sauvignon and
the 2010 Neyers “Napa Valley” Merlot.
For dessert, DK Restaurants’ pastry
chef Cherrie Pascua will create her delicious
Maui Gold pineapple bread pudding.
The additional “Intermezzo” courses
will showcase truffle Cajun seared
Hawaiian ahi and Hamachi carpaccio.
