Panoramic windows unveil
tropical garden views at the
Honu Bar, the perfect spot to
enjoy cocktails, appetizers, light
dinners, desserts and more
at Mauna Lani Bay Hotel &
Bungalows.
Sous chef Bryce Velez has
created an impressive menu
teeming with delicious choices.
Among the specialties are sushi,
poke, island-fresh salads, and
barbecue pork pizza, to name a
few.
An Asian-style variation of the
slider, chef Velez’s bao buns are
stuffed with choice of kalua pork,
Asian slaw or spiced grilled catch
of the day. The crispy Koreanstyle
calamari is seasoned with
toasted sesame garlic sauce. The
excellent Honu Burger includes
house-made bacon, sautéed
mushrooms, provolone, zucchini,
and teriyaki aioli.
Honu Bar presents live entertainment
nightly from 8 p.m.
to 10 p.m. Every Friday and
Saturday, pianist Karl Kasberg
and songstress Desiree Cruz
present a repertoire of jazz,
Hawaiian, blues and R&B. There
is no cover charge; valet parking
is complimentary.
For early risers, the Honu Bar
Café serves traditional breakfast
favorites beginning at 6 a.m., as
well as take-out lunch items like
sandwiches and salads. Check
out the complete Honu Bar menu

Foster’s Kitchen
We ate at this place
twice it was so good!
The portions were large,
fresh and delicious. The
service was great and
loved the atmosphere!
We tried several of the
house drinks and were
not disappointed and
would highly recommend
Foster’s Kitchen.

The resorts are so
expensive, it was nice
to have this nearby. We
had a few breakfast
sandwiches here during
our stay just down the
road. It was always
busy in the morning
but they had adequate
staff to get your order
out fairly quickly. Plan
to sit outside or stand
if staying there.

Privateer’s Cove
You will not find a
more authentic food
establishment than
Privateer’s Cove. We
had such a great time
making new friends and
sharing stories with
them it was silly, but in
a great way. They are
all about making your
visit special and about
you. The food is honest
and straightforward.
They are not afraid to
take risks but again are
all about the customer.
Frankly, you cannot
describe nor duplicate
this place. I hear some
foodie cook visited
recently... Be open
minded and spend some
time with our friends
at Privateer’s Cove. Marc R.

Fancy and expensive
but it is really an
experience coming here
that’s worth the cost.
Beautiful setting. The
building is fabulous.
Great wine selection.
Excellent food.

Nice, good food and
lovely outdoor patio. Also
not too expensive which
is rare in this area. Right
across from the Marriott
Resort so easy to walk to.

Noodle Club
I am from Hilo side of
Hawaii Island and this
is definitely a must stop
when passing through
Waimea! It’s a unique,
creative presentation
of the food — so much
delicious flavors put into
the noodles! It’s not a big
restaurant. It fits about
10 tables (four chairs
each table), including
a couple bench seating
and an island with bar
stools. We went around
lunch time (noon) &
we didn’t have to wait
at all for seating. We
got seated right away,
menus are located at the
table as well. Wait staff
will come to ask about
drinks then takes food
order at a reasonable
time. Food arrived at the
table quick! It’s a must!

We decided to pop in
for an early dinner and
were not disappointed!
Service was prompt and
food was delicious. Their
drinks were amazing too.
Our waitress was sweet
and accommodating. If
you are craving some
Mexican food, don’t

to satisfy your craving!

Resort & Spa
My husband and
I are so happy we
decided to attend this
Luau! It was a perfect
evening. The dancers
and musicians were so
talented. The hostess
was very charismatic
and knowledgeable
about Hawaiian history.
The food was plentiful
and very tasty. We
enjoyed trying several
traditional local dishes.
We topped the evening
off with an amazing
sunset. I would highly
recommend this event!

Great view! Food
was good as was the
service. Fish tacos
were awesome. My
husband had the hot
dog, which was all
beef and very filling.
Would eat here again!
