Three big pieces with a generous handful of fries. Honestly, the word “wow” describes the hot serving of fish and chips. Wouldn’t change a thing and for this reason alone, five stars. 2. Fish, chips, shrimp, and calamari. My wife is n t much of a seafood eater but guess what - she devoured this plate. Again, wow! She couldn’t get over the size of the fish and how firm and fresh it was. She loved her calamari rings and her hot fries. 3. Popcorn chicken. My niece doesn’t like fish and so she ordered the popcorn chicken. She’s 12 and pronounced it better than McDonald’s chicken nuggets (her father raised her). I did try half a piece of chicken and was surprised by the flavor and the all white meat. Excellent for children. 4. Shrimp and chips. Okay, here is one of two negatives. Not a lot of shrimp considering the small size of the shrimp. If prawns were used then the four or five that came with the order would have been sufficient. However, these were smaller shrimp and four or five didn’t measure up to a meal. I would add at least three more shrimp to this basket. Other than that, great flavor. We also ordered a side of crab cakes to share. Overall, good flavor and we lived the dipping sauce that came with the crab cakes. However, and here is where I am guessing, the crab cakes used imitation crab. If I’m wrong, I apologize sincerely. That being said, there was no real crab meat texture and it was obviously a frozen massproduced food product rather than a handmade cake. Even with that said, this place deserves a five star review for the fresh fish and chips. It was a 45-minute drive for us to get there but well worth it!
