WAIMEA Word on the Str(eat)! Island Gourmet Market at Queen’s MarketPlace “This is a nice market but the deli is the best part. First, the market part has most things that tourists need/want with typical pricing. Grocery store items like juice, cereal, milk, bread. We discovered the deli late one evening. Hungry, but not wanting to spend a lot of money we checked it out. Wow! You can get things like Moco Loco, salads, fish, sandwiches, fries, and many other menu items. Also near by are bakery items like sweet rolls, doughnuts, banana bread and more. The foods is really good and the price is right. Usually got two dinner items for about $22. Good size also. We would recommend it.” Llll Y, Seattle, Washington Ocean Bar & Grill at Mauna Lani “Dinner over sunset with great drinks, great food, great service. Not much more to say. We had been here before and we will return. Higher end restaurant worth every penny. Be sure to ask for a view table, but then again, all tables have a view.” retired_early_51 Sun Valley, Idaho Sansei Seafood If you are in the area and love Sushi like we do, this place is amazing. They have a great selection of dishes and all we tried were truly amazing. They melt in your mouth. You must however make a reservation as they are full most nights and your wait could be a long one. 11Claude Ottawa, Canada Rays On The Bay My family stayed at the Sheraton in Kona in October and went to Rays on the Bay one of the nights. We had a phenomenal time! We made a 7pm reservation and were seated right away at a round table with a fire pit in the middle. It made for a cool ambiance, but it was hot and we were sweating, so our server turned it off for us. Our table overlooked the patio with the flood lights where you can see the manta rays at night, so that was cool. Our food was fabulous. For an appetizer, we got ahi poke, sushi, and Kauai shrimp and veggie kabobs. For salads we got Caesar with a delicious goat cheese and tomato bruschetta. My main course was a white fish and baby boy choy. Chef Ulep stopped by our table to chat and explained the menu is changed based on what produce and fish they get locally. I highly recommend Rays on the Bay for a fabulous dinner experience in the Kona area. Nicole H Kahulul, HI Romanos Macaroni There are very good parking locations near by to choose from. We arrived an early dinner, 5:30pm, and we were seated immediately—no waiting. As always, there was a full, extensive menu to choose our meals from. And yes, we loved their complimentary bread prior to our meal. The bar area was filled with patrons watching sports, and enjoying “cold ones.” We enjoyed our table in the main dining area. Our server was friendly, attentive, and our drink glasses were never empty for long. Our meals arrived quickly from the kitchen, and they were very good with very generous portions. When we left, all the tables were occupied; and there were patrons waiting for their turn to be seated. Yes, it is a “chain” restaurant, but it is a delicious “chain” restaurant. We would come back on our next visit. OregonExplorers4 Albany, Oregon Denny’s We had late dinner and brunch at Denny’s and found the service to be friendly and the food spot on. After several week’s on tour, we were on the look out for ‘home style’ cooking. Good portions, plenty of vegetables. For what you pay, 5 stars! Tashmon Yeppoon Australia
