4 ONO-LICIOUS | MARCH 17, 2017 Word on the Str(eat)! A-Bay’s Island Grill “We have stayed here several times. Recently renovated, the rooms are very comfortable although not large. Beds fantastic. Beach and pool absolute tops. Restaurants excellent but over-priced. Easy access to a host of Big Island attractions. For this (very high) level of quality, the pricing is very reasonable, making this our top recommendation to friends. There are fancier, which are in fact superior, but the price difference can be huge. Look for bundled offers (with air and car) through Hawaiian Airlines for real bargains.” — LoveToTravel317, CT Bongo Ben’s “We had a party of 15 and we were hungry after doing the bubble run 8 in the morning. The service was friendly and great. Got our orders taken quickly and also received our food quickly. I ordered the Dixieland breakfast country fried chicken with white gravy and a Belgian waffle, my partner ordered the country omelette with ham eggs sausage cheese and hollandaise sauce. There was not a single piece of food wasted. Everything was so flavorful and good! Not only that, the view is wonderful. Your get an ocean front view with a nice cool breeze.” — Caitlin P CanoeHouse “My wife and I were staying at the Fairmont Orchid, the resort next to where the CanoeHouse was and one day we decided to walk along the beach from our resort to where the CanoeHouse is. We could see at once that it would be a great place for dinner with really spectacular views of the ocean and the sunset. When we got back to our hotel we made reservations right away for that night. The host offered us the chance to wait for a ‘perfect’ seaside table and we took her up on her offer. We had a great unrestricted view of the ocean and the sunset, just amazing! The food and the service were excellent and whenever we return to the big island, we’ll be back again!” — DHSS, Calgary, Alberta Charley’s Thai “I ate there twice, both times for lunch. I had the Mahi Mahi Special, and the Garlic Shrimp. Both were excellent. The sauces both had tremendous flavor, especially the Garlic Shrimp. I ordered medium spicy, which was perfect for me. Service was prompt, food was hot, well-prepared, and well-served. I was a little concerned about its strip-mall location, but nothing about the food, the menu, or the service supported that stereotype. I love Thai food and I’ve eaten at standalone Thai restaurants in beautiful locations that weren’t nearly as good as this one.” — DIANA M, Kamuela Island Fish & Chips at King’s Shops “My husband and I enjoyed a fish and chips dinner next to the lake at the Kings Shops at Waikoloa. It was quick and easy to pick up a meal before the free music in the courtyard of the Kings Shops. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. Fries were crispy and tender and service was very efficient. The meal was 3 large pieces of fish and plentiful chips! The location is behind the shops with tables under the gazebo next to the manmade lake where it is quiet and picturesque.” — MontanaIrish1, Billings, Montana Privateer’s Cove “Privateers Cove is exactly what I enjoy when it comes to eating out. They change the menu every couple weeks which keeps it fun and interesting. They have exotic meats on their menu like alligator, white tail deer, camel, and buffalo to name a few. It’s a small place with a pirate ship fill and airships hanging from the ceiling, and they don’t allow people to talk on their cell phone. I enjoy the food so much I visit at least once a week.” — samwise215, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii ALL OUR STEAKS ARE SERVED TENDER, JUICY AND SIZZLING SIZZLIN’ PRIME TIME MENU 3 course menu for $49.95 | Nightly 5pm - 6pm HAPPY HOUR Nightly in our lounge 5pm - 7pm WINE WEDNESDAYS 25% off bottles of wines Present this ad for A COMPLIMENTARY APPETIZER* *Valid with the purchase of two entrees.
