We went for dinner, appetizer came out quickly as did the entrees. Most affordable dinner we’ve had on the island and one of the most satisfying. Wish we’d discovered it sooner.” DrRegina16 CanoeHouse “Nice restaurant near the beach with lights towards the sea so you can actually see the waves during dinner. High end restaurant with good service and nice menu with prices being set accordingly. We recommend.” oliviermH5019GN A-Bay’s Island Grill “Very friendly owners, enthusiastic service. Normally we wouldn’t expect a fine dining Check out our $8.95 Lunch Specials quality of dining in a sports bar, but the steak and lobster was arguably the best we have ever eaten. The caesar salad was crisp and serviced with extra anchovies on request, and the desserts, well, we went back four times in 5 days just to try them all! Go here! If you’re looking for good selection of beers, you can split an appetizer and dine on a budget. Or splurge for the island-inspired cocktails outside on the patio. Either way, great place early in the day or late in the night” 6andersons1world, Edmonton, Mon-Friday 11am-2:30pm Located at the Keauhou Shopping Center Mon-Fri 11am-9pm Sat-Sun 12pm-9pm 322.8424 www.RoyalThaiCafe.com Canada Ocean Bar & Grill “Our family of 4 dinned at this establishment serval times during a visit to Kona. The fish and chips are half price on Wednesday and Taco Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, all kinds of tacos for about 3.00. The food was very good. Service was good. You do have to get there early and be patient during taco nights are they are extremely busy and food can take a while. Bring some cards and relax. The restaurant is open, airy and clean.” kdssmorse, Shanghai Privateer’s Cove “We went there because it was recommended to us by a local businessperson. It is located off the beaten path in a strip mall. The menu is eclectic and ever changing. We had the filet and the ostrich. Both were prepared in very tasty sauces and accompanied with mushroom ravioli and vegetable orzo. For dessert we split the saffron cream dark chocolate mousse. Additionally, they do not, nor do they intend to, have a liquor license so we brought our own very nice bottle of wine. Our new favorite in Kona.” Ray R, Minden, Nevada Island Fish & Chips “Wow, the Hawaiian waffle for breakfast is to die for. Not just a waffle, but with fresh sliced bannas, piled high with whipped cream, shopped coconut, chopped Mac nuts, and a conconut sauce - Wow. But more, the fish and chips are great, and less expensive than other restaurants in the area.” J c, Sedona, Arizona The Koa Table “What better way to top off a day at the beach swimming, snorkeling, and soaking in the sun then with a grilled burger and fries? We both got the TKT burger and fries. The burger was on a sweet bread roll with bacon, onion rings, tomato, lettuce and mayo. We both enjoyed it and thought it was certainly above average. The fries were the potato wedge kind - not the garlic ones we had seen on Yelp and maybe b/c they just changed their menu - and they were good. We also got the house green salad which was fresh and tasty. The sesame/ginger vinegrette was amazing, really delicious. ***Of Note*** this restaurant recently changed names and menus from Three Fat Pigs to Koa Table. With it being our first time we asked for details and the hostess said the new menu offered more local options - right up our alley.” Cody J., Kailua, HI
