It is popular, and we tend to sell out. A lot of the local workers in the area will grab and go, while visitors opt to eat outside on our patio.” Another great venue within Island Gourmet Markets, the Aloha Wine Bar is a sit-down restaurant that is open daily from 3 p.m. to 12 midnight. With seating for up to 30 people, the wine bar offers a happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and again from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Happy-hour prices showcase 12-ounce domestic beers for $2.50; draft beers for $5; and mixed tropical libations and martinis for $7. The wine bar menu includes burgers, salads, pizzas, sushi offerings, garlic chicken, dynamite shrimp and more. During happy hour, all food orders are 10-percent off. “A lot of our firsttime customers tell us they wish they had discovered us on the first day of their vacation, especially when they see our wine bar,” said Nakumura. “We offer some of the best pricing on drinks in the entire resort area. Our deli prices are great, as well.” One of the few places in the Waikoloa Beach Resort area open for breakfast, Island Gourmet Markets serves breakfast daily from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. The menu includes pancakes & eggs, breakfast burritos, omelets and breakfast sandwiches. Baked goods are prepared daily, like the Waikoloa Banana and Pumpkin Bread, sold by the loaf or by the slice. The market’s famous bear claw is a must-try pastry.
