Bongo Ben’s Island Cafe My husband and I decided to try this resturant as it was conveniently located near our resort. Upon arrival the staff was friendly, the waiters were also attentive and provided great service. The food was really good and resonably priced. There are fabulous restaurants on the Big Island, but sometimes you just want a good burger and one that doesn’t cost a great amount. A local resident recommended this place when we were hungry for burgers and just wanted to eat at a reasonable price and have a quick meal. We were not misled - the burgers were delicious - my sister had the regular burger and I had the swiss and mushroom burger - both were delicious and both under $10. Wonderful waiters/ waitresses that reminded me of the way cafes used to be, friendly and engaging, making customers feel welcomed. We ordered from the 2-4-6-8 menu and everything was good. Especially the prices! Surprised they offered the same value menu in Hawaii as they do on the Mainland. Ate dinner here twice, both times our check was less than $18.00 Our waitress even refilled my coffee in a to-go cup so I could enjoy it on our way back to the hotel.
