2 Thursday, June 8, 2017 Courtesy photo Thundering into town Stephen Morris, 26, was about to start studying law when a friend encouraged him to send in his photos to the Las Vegas male revue, the Thunder from Down Under. “I had been to Vegas on holiday a couple of times and I had seen the billboards,” Morris says. “I thought, ‘Wow, they must have the best jobs in the world to get paid to travel and stay in shape and dance for the ladies.’ But I had never pictured myself doing it.” Fitness always has been one of Morris’ passions but he had no dance training. Still, he sent in photos and got a call back right away. Even his mother was supportive. “She told me to go for it,” he says. “I thought she’d say I should (pursue my law degree) but she said it will still be there later and I should enjoy traveling and seeing the world now. She’s come to my shows and she loves it.” So now Morris, who hails from the Gold Coast of Australia, is living the billboard he saw years ago, traveling year-round and getting paid to stay in shape and be desirable to women. The Thunder from Down Under show is 70 minutes of heart-palpitating, high-energy, interactive seduction. Each performer embodies a different female fantasy from rugged cowboy to lifesaving firefighter to Tarzan of the jungle, and they all come with authentic Australian accents and cheeky Australian humor. The internationally acclaimed, award-winning male revue has been thrilling females around the world for close to 20 years, performing 13 shows a week at the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas.
