Hawaii Tribune-Herald By KATIE YOUNG YAMANAKA Special to the Tribune-Herald For the first time, an all-aerial dance show is coming to Hilo with “Take Flight: An Evening of Aerial” at 7 p.m. Friday at the Palace Theater. Produced by Mirabilia Aerial Co. and Puna Aerialists, the 90-minute show features 10 artists performing 15 different acts that combine dance and acrobatics on various apparatuses including aerial silks, lyra (steel hoop), rope, pole and hammock. The show spotlights an international lineup with artists native to Colombia, Germany, Italy and Sweden, as well as several Big Island-born aerialists. “Our aerial group has been dreaming of doing a show at the Palace Theater for over four years and we’re very excited it’s finally happening,” See AERIAL Page 8
